Performers

Beth Feuerstein (Flautist):
Miss Feuerstein graduated from North Royalton High School (NRHS) where she played first flute in the NRHS wind ensemble and marching band. Beth is a graduate of the University of Akron. During the 2003-2004 school year, Beth was the president of the band sorority, TBS. Beth was recently named the Presser Scholar for the 2004-2005 school year, and will receive a scholarship given to only one undergraduate music major as voted on by the professors of the department.

Maribeth Hill (Vocalist):
Maribeth Hill and Ryan NowlinMiss Hill currently lives in Toledo, Ohio and is a Marketing Associate with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra. She is an '03 graduate of Ohio Northern University, earning her BFA in Musical Theater and a minor in dance. During her own time at ONU, Maribeth was a member of the University Singers, dance captain of the Added Attraction Show Choir and was heavily involved with the theater department productions. Maribeth has been a featured soloist with the TSO and sings weekly with the music ministry of the First Congregational Church of Toledo.

Ryan Nowlin (Vocalist):
Mr. Nowlin attended North Royalton High School where he played trumpet, french horn, and sang in the Royal Harmony select choral group. In May 2000, Ryan graduated summa cum laude from Bowling Green University with a degree in Music Education. He taught Instrumental Music (6th -12th grades), working with concert bands, jazz bands, and directed the Marching Ironmen in Jackson, Ohio for two years. Ryan then returned to BGSU for graduate studies and recently graduated with a Masters of Music. He served as Asst. Band Director at BCSU for the 2004-2005 school year. Ryan is current the Band Director for Brecksville High School and is an active composer and arranger of wind band music.

Ellen Pasturzak Spinner (Vocalist):
Mrs. Spinner has been a registered nurse for over ten years. She is a licensed massage therapist and is currently a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner at Women's Contemporary Health Care in Columbus, Ohio. Ellen was Miss Ohio in 1996 and spent many hours in public speaking and service with youth groups. Ellen solos with her church choir often and gives of her time and talents at retreats and with youth groups. She is married to Scott Spinner and they have two sons, Caleb and Joshua. They presently reside in Gahanna, Ohio.

Mary Lou Lydecker (Pianist):
For many years, Mrs. Lydecker taught music in the Strongsville public school system. Mrs. Lydecker received her Bachelors of Music from Oberlin University and her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Kent State University. For over 30 years, she has been active as a private piano teacher and church organist. In September 2000, Mary Lou Lydecker was diagnosed with a rare auto-immune diseased called "cold agglutinin." Cold temperatures or wide temperature changes activate this blood-related diseases causing her hemoglobin level to plummet. Mary Lou is the inspiration and founder of the The Sounds of Hope Project. Her husband, Marty Lydecker, is the band director for North Royaton High School and has participated in past project for the SOHP. The Lydeckers currently reside in North Royalton, Ohio.

Matthew Ginter (Organist):
Mr. Ginter is the organist at St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Rocky River, Ohio and the former organist for St. Paul Lutheran Church (Lakewood, Ohio) and St. Luke Lutheran Church (Cleveland). His musical studies began under the piano tutelage of Jennifer Rheinhardt at the Koch School of Music and continued with Karen Taddie. Moving to organ at age eleven, Mr. Ginter continues to enhance worship and sacred events for his home church and several other area congregations to this day. Mr. Ginter is the Systems Analyst/Programmer and Lead Trainer for Oswald Companies in Cleveland, Ohio. A licensed Property & Casualty agent, Mr. Ginter merges his knowledge of the insurance industry and agency operations with his skills in database architecture and application design & programming, to provide support, integration services and custom applications to Oswald's continually expanding business.




"The Spirit of America":

Sounds of Hope Project will be releasing its sixth album entitled "The Spirit of America" in the fall of 2007. It will feature patriotic songs and melodies including "God Bless America", "The Liberty Bell" and "Stars and Stripes Forever". Many local groups and talented musicians have donated their time to produce this album including Freedom Brass Band and the choir of the Old Stone Church.

A final release date is not available. A concert including performances by our featured artists is tentatively planned for November, 2007. Please check back for availability or contact us for more information.  Read more

 



"Sounds of Hope Project is a music outreach program. The purpose is to comfort, relax and soothe all listeners through the production of music CDs. The targeted audience includes, but it is not limited to: shut-ins, those under hospice care, the hospitalized and those in nursing homes."
