Martha Rohrbaugh Vivona

After graduating from Oberlin in 1975, Martha Rohrbaugh Vivona continued studying with George Neikrug and Harvey Shapiro.  She served as principal cellist of the Albany Symphony Orchestra and also performed with the New York City Opera and various pop artists, including Garrison Keillor, Moody Blues, Bob Hope, Tony Benneyt, Beatlemania, Lyle Lovett, Garrison Keillor, Yannni, Moody Blues, Natalie Cole, Sammy Davis, Jr., Liza Minelli, John Denver, Barry Manilow, Smoky Robinson, Joel Grey, Sergio Franchi, Connie Francis, Rosemary Clooney, Englebert Humperdink, Marvin Hamlisch, Red Skelton, Perry Como and Robert Goulet.

She was on the nationally televised Mariah Carey special and appeared in two of her videos.  She recorded on Albany Records, New World Records, Connifer Records and Argo Records.  She taught cello in Albany, NY, and was the Principal Cellist and Section Cellist, Albany Symphony Orchestra.

Since returning to Ohio, she has focused on private cello teaching and chamber music coaching.  She is a private cello instructor in Lakewood, Ohio City Schools and the Director of Good Vibrations Chamber Music Program in Lakewood, OH

She is happily married and has 2 daughters.  Martha is a contributing performer on Sounds of Serenity.
